About the Event

Joy is not just a mere fleeting emotion – it triggers a host of significant physiological and psychological changes that can improve our physical and mental health. And, luckily for us, there are many easy things we can do each day in order to boost the amount we feel.

Embark on a rejuvenating mini retreat tailored to reignite the flame of inner joy within you. Immerse yourself in a harmonious blend of joyful movement practices, invigorating yoga sessions, soothing breathwork and meditation, and unleash your creativity through art and journaling. Indulge in delectable snacks and comforting teas, creating a holistic experience that nurtures your mind, body, and spirit. Join us on this intimate journey to rediscover the joy that resides within.

According to Brene Brown, joy is the most vulnerable emotion we experience. We wish to experience it but we tend to armour ourselves us consciously or unconsciously to protect ourselves from connecting to a deep sense of joy.  Come along if you're curious about connecting to your authentic joy and understand how foreboding joy can hinder us from connecting with life to the fullest. Yoga can help us connect to joy as it helps us cultivate awareness of our thoughts and body, and it gives us the capacity to make informed choices on and off the mat. 

You don't have to be artistic or an experienced yoga practioner to join.  Let us know if you have any injuries or pre-existing conditions or if you have any dietary requirements. 

What to expect: 

  • A nurturing day for yourself
  • Time to slow down, pause and reflect
  • Space to explore what brings you joy through movement, art, journaling , meditation
  • You'll have time explore your joy list 
  • Enjoy some nourishing snacks and tea

Schedule:

1:30 pm - 2 pm: Welcome talk on Joy vs Foreboding Joy 

2:15 pm - 3:15 pm: Joyful movement exploration practice 

3:15 pm - 3:30 pm: Snacks and tea

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Joyful art exploration & Journaling

4:30 pm - 5:00 pm: Soothing breathwork & meditation on authentic joy 

5:00 pm - 5:30 pm: Rest & restore and Closing 

What to bring: 

  • yoga mat and any props you'd like to take with you
  • pen
  • water bottle

What we provide:

  • yoga props
